We have created the following plan to ensure the safety of our staff, students, and families as we welcome them back to in-person instruction for the 2020-21 school year. The plan is offered as guidance to our pastors and Catholic school leaders as they take the steps to bring staff back to work and students back to school.

Yesterday on a call with Kentucky superintendents and subsequently in his daily address, Governor Andy Beshear recommended that schools delay the return to in-person instruction until September 28, 2020.

The Governor’s stated reasons for this recommendation were the current positivity rate statewide, the number of children testing positive in recent weeks, and the experience of other states resuming in-person instruction, among other items.

Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of Louisville will be meeting today to discuss the new recommendation. Thus, we await communication regarding our plan to resume in-person instruction in the coming weeks here at HT.

We continue to hear from members of our community and know that as parents, you have valid concerns and perspectives on both sides of this issue. Once we have more information and guidance from the Archdiocese, we will let you know. Please know that no matter what is decided, our faculty and staff have planned for all scenarios extensively through trainings, research, and hours of preparation and work.

Please know of our gratitude for your support, patience, and understanding during these trying times. We often say it takes a village and we are grateful that you are part of our village.
